No Beef Intended Review

So we start off our second double artist of the week feature, with a small duo from Fort Mill,SC
who was recommended to me by a former Artist of the week feature, Chapel Lighty. The duo consisting of Julian and Hakeem is a rap ground with promise. Not that much feedback as far as major mixtape drops, so we at Planet Cool well treat this mixtape as a debut. So with that, lets
get into the review of No Beef Intended.

Track 1: King Leon
Beat:2/5
Concept:2/5
Lyrics:2/5

No Beef Intended starts off with a solid work of wordplay. Julian and Hakeem provide
two very solid flows and we get to know these two artist.

Track 2: Haters
Beat:5/5
Concepts:1/5
Lyrics:2/5

The song really throws me off, the beat is crazy because Kanye West made it. But the concept
of the song seems to be taking aim at someone that is in their inner circle, so if your not
a friend of this duo, you might be clueless on the song. Still theirs some good lyrics in
here that makes you listen.

Track 3: We Came to Get Money
Beat:2/5
Concept:2/5
Lyrics: 2/5

* Lyrics on this one are pretty decent

Track 5: MOE
Beat:2/5
Concept:2/5
Lyrics:2/5

Is this not the same concept as We Came to get Money?

Track 6: Can't Stop Me
Beat:1/5
Concept:2/5
Lyrics:2.6/5

Good Lyrics

Track 7: Dripping
Beat: 3/5
Concept:3/5
Lyrics:3/5

Hakeem goes solo on this track, its a decent song and shows this artist potential.

Track 8: Speeding
Concept:2/5
Lyrics:3/5

A Solo from Julian, the lyrics take a up on this one.

Track 8: I'm Taking Off
Beat:3/5
Concept:3/5
Lyrics:3/5

This is pretty much, one of the top three songs on the mixtape. Very
Catchy chorus.

Track 9: Lets go get this Money
Beat:4/5
Concept:4/5
Lyrics:5/5

Now this song is a very very good song, but the two previous songs based around
money, makes this song seem dry.

Track 10: Lost My Mind
Beat:2/5
Concept:3/5
Lyrics:2.5/5

This song goes down a very different path, seems like its heading towards a personal
anthem. I really like it because it provides a different vibe.

Track 11: Are you sure you can take it
Beat:1/5
Concept:2/5
Lyrics:2/5

Track 12: I'm Going In Feat C.Lighty
Beat:4/5
Concept:2/5
Lyrics:5/5

This remix of I'm Going In [ Original song by Drake and Lil Wayne.] Might be
better then the original. C.Lighty assist the two on this song, and the lyrics
on this thing is just flat out amazing.

Track 13: Lets Get it
Beat:2/5
Concept:2/5
Lyrics:2.5/5

Track 14: What you waiting For
Beat:2/5
Concept:25
Lyrics:2/5

Track 15: What you Wanna do
Beats:2/5
Concept:3/5
Lyrics:2.5/5

Track 16: What Chu Gonna Do with Dat
Beats: 2/5
Concept:2.6/5
Lyrics:1.8/5

Track 17: Fort Mill remix
Beat:2/5
Concept:3/5
Lyrics:2.9/5

Now I can relate to this song, somewhat, because the original appeared
on C.Lightys first mixtape, King Lighty. But just like when I heard the original
I was pretty clueless on what or who they where talking about. But I'm sure
the Fort Mill fans loved the song.

Final Beat Rating:2.5/5
Concept:2/5
Wordplay:2.6/5

Final Thoughts: No Beef Intended has so much promise. When I hear Julian and Hakeem I hear
potential. Talents that need molding and more work to become competitive and today's hip-hop
world. On one side there was some catchy songs like Lets Go Get this money and I'm Taking off
that had all the makings for a hit radio single. Then there was all the money songs and songs
like What you Wanna do, Dripping and What Chu Gonna Do with that, that just sounded repetitive.
The mixtape traveled along the same road, meaning it just had one sound to it, there was no
songs that took me to one emotion or the other, all the songs just attacked one emotion. Still
No Beef Intended is a worthy mixtape that you should check out.

No Beef Intended gets a Solid: D+
A ok mixtape in need of work.
